An evening with cannabis expert Dr. Ethan Russo


Ethan Russo, MD, is an internationally recognized cannabis expert. He will be in Kelowna for the evening to present his talk entitled, The Case for the Entourage Effect and Conventional Breeding of Clinical Cannabis, No “Strain,” No Gain.

Dr. Russo is a board-certified neurologist, psychopharmacology researcher, and former Senior Medical Advisor to GW Pharmaceuticals. He served as study physician to GW Pharmaceuticals for three Phase III clinical trials of Sativex. He has published numerous book chapters, and over thirty articles in neurology, pain management, cannabis, and ethnobotany.

About Omar Farooq
Physician Assistant, Canadian Cannabis Clinics

Omar Farooq is an international medical graduate who initially joined Canadian Cannabis Clinics as a clinical assistant . He was and continues to be amazed by the impact that medical marijuana has on patient’s lives.

He also has a background in clinical research which allowed him to take on the role of research coordinator for CCC. This allows him to be involved with research which would change the way marijuana is perceived in the medical community as well as society. He hopes that one day marijuana’s true medical potential will be recognized and understood through proper scientific research.

He is also a cannabis counselor and loves to do medical outreach as he sees it as an excellent opportunity to get the proper information out to everyone.

In his spare time he loves to meditate and do Qi Gong.
